Show day has come and gone…again.
Saturday was a long but very fun day. The OCB Pine Tree State is a Pro/Am show, which was awesome because it allowed the amateurs to watch the pro classes. A lot of the same competitors from the first show I did back in March, competed in this show as well. Many familiar and friendly faces backstage.
I felt good going into this show, and I’m glad that I didn’t back out. I ended up placing 2nd in Novice and 3rd in Open. This show was far bigger than the first (37 vs 137 people), so I’m extremely happy to have placed top 3 again and it only being my 2nd show.
When comparing the 1st show to this one, I felt much more comfortable on stage and in my posing. My legs weren’t shaking like crazy this time and my transitions were smoother. I was also a tad bit leaner this show, but not quite as lean as I would have liked to have been. But that sets a goal for next season.
Post show, I went to Nosh Kitchen in Portland, ME…great decision. Their Mac n’ Stack is amazing — burger and bacon between breaded mac & cheese buns. Can’t go wrong. And Holy Donut. I was in heaven. And Sunday I don’t think I stopped eating…
I’m sad that it’s over, but so very ready to begin training for next season. I’m not planning on competing again until next spring. That gives me a solid year to build and focus on what needs to be focused on…now to just get back on my diet, after the Ben & Jerry’s and everything else I’ve been missing the last 4 months is out of the house 😀
