Fitness and health started for me at a young age when competitive swimming took over my life at the age of 7. My family was always very active, I grew up with running, canoeing, and skiing, but eventually found a love for swimming and horseback riding. When swimming came to an end for me, I found myself exploring the fitness center within the YMCA that I was a lifeguard at. Since then, I haven’t looked back.
Over the years my fitness goals have evolved. At first, it was a way to stay in shape when not in the pool, then eventually it turned into wanting to get “bigger” or add muscle mass which eventually led into the goal of competing.
I competed in my first bodybuilding competition in the Figure class in spring 2018. I have competed in both the OCB and INBF organizations, and have competed in 4 total shows with more planned in the future.
In the last 7 years that I’ve been pushing iron, I’ve learned so much about the body, fitness, and overall health, the sport of bodybuilding, and mostly about myself. Training altogether is a discipline – mentally and physically, and it’s tough but incredibly rewarding.
