    10 Week Challenge: Finale!

The Challenge is over! I submitted my final photos and measurements last night = officially done. Looking back on the past 10 weeks, I am very happy that I decided to take part in this challenge. When I chose to join the challenge, it wasn’t because of the idea of winning 1st or 2nd place and getting a photoshoot with Nicole Wilkin’s or winning $1,500 (even though both would be nice). Rather I did it for myself, to push myself – mentally and physically, and to prepare and motivate myself for April 2019 when I’ll be competing again. It most definitely got my ass in gear and my mind thinking…

    10 Week Challenge: Week 9

1 WEEK LEFT! 9 weeks of the challenge are complete. Only 7 days left to go! The challenge has flown by, which also means summer did too and it’s already officially fall which is f*cking crazy! With summer and this challenge coming to a close, it’s going to be a bit weird. This is the 1st fall season that I am not in school…and am working full-time between 2 jobs and it’s great! Surprisingly not missing classes or the routine of having class and clinical. I am excited to start focusing on my Nutrition certification though which I was supposed to start 3 weeks ago, just haven’t had the time…

    10 Week Challenge: Week 8

Week 8 is coming to a close! And what a crazy week it has been… New position at work, car search, my dad visiting, keeping up with clients, adding clients…lots of things! On top of training at Limitless, I am now taking on the responsibility of their Administrative Assistant, which I am super excited about. When I started there I was really looking into getting into a position where I had a good split of personal training and management responsibilities. And they have now granted me with both! Lots of changes are happening, so learning a lot really freaking quickly. Friday my dad came up to visit from Western Mass…

10 Week Challenge: Week 7 Wrap Up

2 Phases down, 1 more to go! The last week of this phase was definitely interesting. I maintained my normal schedule of lifting and doing cardio early in the morning. At the beginning of the week I was hoping to shift my workouts to mid-morning, but my schedule just wasn’t going to allow that last week. After traveling over Labor Day weekend and spending about 10 hours total in the car over a 3-day period, my body felt like shit…so luckily Monday I had a massage. Unfortunately, a wrench was thrown into the mix on Wednesday morning. On my way to work, I was rear-ended, such a fantastic way to…

    10 Week Challenge: Week 6!

Can you believe it’s already September?! I’ve noticed my motivation has someone been starting to lag, so to keep myself positive and pushing through this challenge, I’ve been filling my weekends to distract myself and keep busy, rather than sitting in my apartment and staring at my food pantry and thinking about what I “can’t” have. I’ve been lucky that most of my weekends have been filled with activity without me really having to plan anything. Last weekend, Limitless Fitness staff went paddle boarding and that marked the end of week 5. This weekend through to the end of the challenge, I have stuff planned. To end week 6, I…

10 Week Challenge: Week 5 Wrap Up

Made it through week 5 and officially at the half way point of this Challenge! Training This week’s training was quite a bit different from the previous 4 weeks. 6 lifts per week in a Push/Pull/Leg format. The workouts took me about 50-60 minutes to complete, limited rest between sets and great intensity. Reps have increased from 8-12 range to 10-15…I’m not a fan of higher reps. But outside of the high reps, the workouts are absolutely killer. Kind of happy that this phase is only 3 weeks…hopefully the last 5 weeks fly by. Still not completely hating on cardio. I have set cardio up so I’m doing 30-minute Intervals…

    10 Week Challenge: Week 4

Phase 1 is over! 6 weeks left in the challenge… Week 4 went just as well as the 1st 3 weeks of the challenge. I hit a PR with my squats this week which made me really happy… Yesterday, I decided to do an extra day of cardio, willingly…that never happens. But it was a good way to end the week 4 workouts. This week’s meals were: Meal 1: 2 eggs, ¼ c egg whites, broccoli, 14g low-fat cheese, 150g strawberries, 1 coconut flour pancakes , maple syrup [OR] 1 egg, ¾ c egg whites, broccoli, 28g cheerios, ½ c almond milk, 150g strawberries Meal 2: 4oz turkey burger, 100g…

    10 Week Challenge: Week 3

Another week down! 1 week left in the 1st phase of the challenge. Week 3 I’ve been pushing myself a bit more each week in the workouts and sticking to the meal plan. I’m trying to maintain as much strength as possible, though I know as calories drop and reps increase, strength is going to suffer a bit. Last Sunday during my meal prep…I had to buy more Tupperware — like I don’t already have enough 🙄. BUT Family Dollar had a 50 piece set for $5, not going to complain…even though it is kind of cheap quality, but it gets the job done. I haven’t done any progress…

10 Week Challenge: Week 2 Review

Week 2, done! Another successful week on the NW 10 Week Challenge. Same workouts as the 1st week – I pushed myself a little bit more with the main lifts now that I have a feel for the workouts – especially my squats and bench press. I really like that I am able to push myself everyday a little bit more and not be completely burnt out the next day or for the rest of the week. Soreness level has been perfect, nothing too horrible (legs have probably been the most sore). This week, I switched around some of the 30-minute HIIT sessions. The 1st week I did the stairmaster…

10 Week Challenge: Week 1 Review

Week 1 of the Nicole Wilkins’ 10 Week Challenge has come to a close. First week was great! Training When reviewing the program’s training and nutrition, I was a bit skeptical at first for a few reasons…One being that the training style is different from what I’m used to. For Phase 1 (which is 4 weeks), the training split is as follows: Monday: Shoulders + Calves, 30 minutes HIIT cardio Tuesday: Back + Abs, 30 minutes HIIT cardio Wednesday: Legs + Calves Thursday: OFF Friday: Chest + Shoulders, 30 minutes HIIT cardio Saturday: Arms + Core Sunday: OFF I like the split, it’s pretty much what I used to do…
