    I have to be honest…the week that followed my show did not go as I had planned/hoped. I had every intention of sticking to my diet, had meals ready to go to keep me on track and filled my schedule, but still it just didn’t happen.     2019 OCB Pine Tree State

    The 2019 OCB Pine Tree State Championships have come and gone.  As I’m sitting here writing this, I’m not quite sure where I want to begin as I am still processing the day. As anyone who has competed before knows, the day is extremely long… You barely sleep the night before partially because of excitement, but really the lack of sleep is mostly in fear of messing up your spray tan. By 6am, you’re up and moving, eat your first meal, pack your stuff, head to the venue, wait for competitors meeting, get tan touch ups, eat your next meal, wait around until the expediters call for your division.     Heading into Comp #2

    9 days until the OCB Pine Tree State Championships!!  So many things running through my mind right now…constantly trying to  make a check list, but when I think of something I need to do, 2 seconds later I already forget what it was.     Prep: Current Thoughts

    Today, there are 16 days until the OCB Pine Tree State Champs…am I ready? At this moment, scrolling through my progress photos, I don’t feel ready.     Peak Week #1

    It’s Monday…and it’s PEAK WEEK! I’m keeping my head down and charging into this peak week. Right now, all I can say is that I am far more excited and feeling so much better heading into peak week than I did last year. Mentality is far better, physique is better (in my opinion — see comparisons below). This morning I did my last leg day until show day. My legs have been quite tired from training and cardio.     Trip to Lake Placid, NY

    I don’t really like traveling while on a calorie restriction and deep into my competition prep…but I’ll make an exception for my family.😉 Since my niece was born in August, I have been trying to make trips to Lake Placid, NY to see my family at least once a month. After the holidays it become a bit tough due to prep, work, and my brothers work/travel schedule.     Prep 2019: 7 Weeks Out

    You Can. You Will. You can, you will, the mantra that I keep repeating every single day, and it is getting me through.  As of yesterday, I am 7 weeks out from my 1st show of the season!     Prep 2019: 10 Weeks Out…and 2 Days

    WORK. TRAIN. EAT. SLEEP. REPEAT. 72 days seems pretty far away, but April 13th and 27th are just around the corner. The last 3 weeks, I’ve just been chugging along. I think this season so far is progressing much better than last. My understanding and control over my food and eating habits has greatly improved compared to last year. Strangely, I’m a lot more relaxed my planning, I’m not obsessing over the meal plans, and am being much more logical about how I navigate through my macronutrient and training changes every few weeks.     Prep 2019: 13 Weeks out

    It’s been a bit since I last updated on where I’m at with my current contest prep situation. I’m 88 days out or 12 weeks and 4 days from my 1st show — the OCB Pine Tree State in Westbrook, ME…but who’s counting? I started prep the Sunday following Thanksgiving, the decision to start at about 20 weeks out was made so I could mentally get myself in the game as well as have some buffer room around the Christmas/New Years time.     Did You Meal Prep?

    Happy Monday! Sunday’s are my big day of meal prepping for the week. Sometimes its a quick prep and other days it takes almost the entire day depending on what I am making. This week I decided to stay simple. Wednesday, I will be hopping on a bus to NYC for Lindsey Stirling’s Wanderland tour (this will be my 5th time seeing her, and 2nd winter tour…not in love with her or her music at all😂).
