    Flexibility through the Holidays

I can’t believe Thanksgiving is 2 days away! This year has absolutely flown by. Seeing that it’s my 1st holiday season where I won’t be on prep, I’ve been thinking about how I want to approach the next 4 weeks of being repeatedly punched in the face by the amazing food that comes with Thanksgiving, holiday parties, and Christmas. Depending on the day, I have very limited to absolutely ZERO self control around food. Being in the off season and with no competition in sight until late 2020, one of my goals is to build but maintain…ideally build muscle and maintain a consistent level of body fat. Considering that my…

    My Experience with Intermittent Fasting

The last month has been a bit busy – being filled with quick weekend trips to Western Mass and Lake Placid, NY for my brother’s wedding, apartment searching, and juggling my clients’ changing summer schedules. During the month of June, I decided to try something new. And as the title gives it away above, I tried intermittent fasting… What is Intermittent Fasting? It is time-restricted eating, as the name implies, you fast or abstain from all food for a number of hours each day. There are a few different set ups for fasting, the most common being a 16:8 — 16 hour fast with an 8 hour eating window. Some…

    I tried a meal prep service…

This has been something that I’ve been wanting to test out for a while now. Being someone who meal preps on a weekly basis and who encourages her clients to do so as well, I wanted to see what the hype was about pre-made meal services was. All of the “great” athletes on Instagram have a sponsorship through one of the many services and rave about how great they are. I looked into a number of different companies, large and small. A few of them being MegaFit Meals, ICON Meals, FlexPro Meals, Small Potatoes Company (local), and a few others. The one I decided on was Freshly. When deciding which…

    2 Weeks Post Show

I have to be honest…the week that followed my show did not go as I had planned/hoped. I had every intention of sticking to my diet, had meals ready to go to keep me on track and filled my schedule, but still it just didn’t happen. Sunday through the following Monday, I ate everything and anything. In a long stream of tortilla chips, Ben & Jerry’s ice cream, oreos, and I don’t even know what else, Monday night, what I had thought to be my last binge day, I had half a jar of Teddy’s PB and half a bag of chocolate chips. Why? Because I f*cking wanted to. Was…

    Keep It Simple

Every Sunday, I cook. Why? Because it makes life just a bit simpler and at least 1 part of my week will be a success. 2 years ago, meal prep was not even on my radar, at least not to the point it is today. 2 years ago, I made every excuse not to meal prep, some being the following: It’s too expensive It’s time consuming The food will be wasted I don’t have time I don’t know what to make I can’t eat the same thing every single day My excuse 2 years ago: I was an incredibly busy college student, working 20+ hours a week on top of…

    Did You Meal Prep?

Happy Monday! Sunday’s are my big day of meal prepping for the week. Sometimes its a quick prep and other days it takes almost the entire day depending on what I am making. This week I decided to stay simple. Wednesday, I will be hopping on a bus to NYC for Lindsey Stirling’s Wanderland tour (this will be my 5th time seeing her, and 2nd winter tour…not in love with her or her music at all😂). The trip is 6 hours from New Hampshire to NYC 🙄 — therefore I am bringing plenty of food. And I’ll be heading back Thursday mid-day = packing 2 days worth of food. My…

Food: High School, College, and Now

High School, College, and Now: What habits have changed since high school? — Many… but the one that is most noticeable to me is my eating habits. High School I didn’t have much of a diet in my early HS years… I didn’t really have a breakfast. I maybe had a bowl of cereal or oatmeal or a bagel. And occasionally a pancake if my dad offered. I’m pretty sure that’s how I went through my entire high school career. Lunch was not much better. I remember freshman year, I did not eat lunch a single day. I didn’t want to buy lunch because honestly, Wahconah’s lunches were horrid. Secondly,…
