• Do’s and Don’ts Post Show

It’s been a week and a few days since my show and I’m back on prep. I have my 2nd ever show coming up in 17 days on April 14th. Super excited for this show ๐Ÿ˜€ I want to talk a bit about post show eating…some things to do and not to do. Let me set the scene for you — you’ve been prepping for the big day for 15-20 weeks, you’ve been training your ass off, sticking to your diet plan, and drinking a gallon+ of water a day.…

  • Bedazzling

It’s so sparkly… Before I even decided to compete, I knew that I wouldn’t buy a pre-jeweled suit. Mostly because of the cost, but also because I wanted to do the jeweling myself. Which I did. I had originally planned on making my entire suit from scratch, but I didnโ€™t really have the time to do so. So, instead my parents bought my suit as an early birthday present. I decided on a plain dark blue suit and went to work putting rhinestones on it. Below is the suit plain,…

  • Who's Hangry?

This girl is and she has 15 days to go! I canโ€™t believe that in 15 days I will be stepping on stage for my first figure competition O.O This shit is getting real! My calories and macros have changed yet again. Iโ€™m now floating between 1,350-1,400 calories per day, and still carb cycling. Iโ€™m kind of shocked with how well I am taking this calorie drop. Iโ€™m definitely hungry and have my moments of insanity, but Iโ€™m not feeling as horrible as I did last week. I have noticed…

  • Own Worst Enemy

I am my own worst enemy right now. Most think prepping for competition, whether itโ€™s bodybuilding, powerlifting, or any sport, is a total physical battle. But really, itโ€™s a complete and total mental game.ย A 12+ week long process can take a toll on your body and mind. And the closer you get to the competition date, the harder things get mentally. At 3 weeks out, the demons have settled in – negative self-talk, dissatisfaction with what you see in the mirror, life balance issues, unwanted stress, the list goes on.…

  • Less Than a Month To Go…

Now 25 days out from my first Figure competition! Less than a month away and so much to do! I finally registered for the OCB amateur membership…Iโ€™ve been registered for the Shamrock Cup Classic, and have my appointments for drug testing and tanning booked! I am ready to go! I started jeweling my suit this past week, but havenโ€™t finished it yetโ€ฆso that is on my To Do list this week. I also need to figure out my training and diet for the last few weeks of prep. Some updates…

  • Week 10/6 Weeks Out

35 days until show day! Week 10 flew by, have no idea where it went to, but onto week 11! Finished week 2 of carb cycling and it went far better than last. My low carb days didnโ€™t hit me quite as badly as they did the week before and I felt like I had a better handle on my diet overall. On Thursday, coming off of a low carb day, I had a huge amount of energy that I have no idea where it came from. Definitely not going…

  • Setbacks

Setback – a reversal or check in progress Setbacks are an event that everyone will experience at some point in their life. And it will present itself in many varying forms. I have recently dealt with one, and I had 2 options: let it ruin everything or work past it. I decided to work past it. Within the last month I have had 2 setbacks due to a previous low back injury. Iโ€™ve been dealing with this problem for 3 years now O.o kind of weird to think that itโ€™s…

  • Week 9 & Weekend Adventures

Week 9 has come to an end. 40 days until show day. I did a thing today…and that thing was indoor rock climbing. I don’t think I’ve done any sort of climbing since I was 8 and it was at one of those carnival/fair climbing walls. I was definitely scared/skeptical towards it at first, but ended up really enjoying it. It definitely helped that the person who dragged me there was extremely patient with me and supportive/encouraging when I wanted to give up on a route. I was very much…
